Spring

After a very busy April and May, a massive red-tide washed in, closing most of southern Maine to shellfishing. I am very grateful for the state's food-safety vigilance, but waiting around to sell oysters is a drag! When the waters clear there will much to harvest!

In the meantime, we've been getting ready for our new research project- building equipment and preparing the farm for the arrival of 80,000 hardshell clams. We are eager to resume on-the-farm science, and relish the thought of bringing home littlenecks along with our oysters. YUM!

After some careful consideration, we will not be offering CSA shares for the 2017 season. We will still offer direct sales by appointment, and are hoping to find some other ways to get our product out. We are currently looking for a partner (restaurateur or caterer) for a pop-up oyster-dinner series. Contact jordan@winneganceoysterfarm.com
